Norwegian pilots land plane after axe attack on crew
Pilots from the Norwegian Air Force (NorAF) were at work to evacuate aircraft from the runwa온라인 바둑이y after an axe attack Sunday on a flight from Nelspruit, about 45 kilometres (28 miles) west of Oslo.
“We were forced to land the plane because a group of men began attacking the plane,” pilot Arvo Dyrström told AFP.
It is understood one man attacked the plane’s crew and was later killed, police said.
Norwegian air safety authorities will now investigate “the circumstances surrounding the attack, but the pilot of the plane did what he had to do,” said spokesman Per Jørn Andersson.
Norway is on the frontline of the campaign to stop Islamic State (IS) militants entering its country by air, and has received more than 120 international support aircraft and personnel from 15 countries.
Dyrström is the first Norwegian crew member to be killed in a major plane attack since January 2015 when four pilots on a flight from Oslo to Stockholm were killed by a bomb on board.
Norway has only recently been able to raise awareness of its deadly domestic terror threat, Dyrström said, referring to a gover세종안마nment campaign launched on Tuesday to rais카지노 사이트e awareness and encourage passengers to report anyone who may be a terrorist.
